Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

The Machine Operator safely operates palletizing machines, monitors production quality throughout the shift, and keeps equipment running efficiently by ensuring raw materials are continuously supplied. This role requires prior forklift operating experience, regular quality inspections, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Responsibilities

  • Operate palletizing machines in a safe, efficient, and consistent manner throughout the shift.

  • Monitor machine performance and promptly address basic issues or escalate concerns to maintain continuous operation.

  • Perform regular quality checks and inspections on products and materials during the shift to ensure they meet standards.

  • Attend to machines to ensure raw materials do not run out and replenish materials as needed to avoid downtime.

  • Use a sit-down forklift to move materials, finished goods, and pallets safely around the production area.

  • Handle materials efficiently, including loading and unloading, staging, and organizing products for palletizing.

  • Assist with basic troubleshooting of machines and equipment to minimize interruptions to production.

  • Inspect products and materials for defects, inconsistencies, or contamination and remove or report nonconforming items.

  • Support blow or injection molding operations when needed, if experienced, to help maintain overall production flow.

  • Perform housekeeping duties to keep work areas, machines, and surrounding spaces clean, organized, and free of debris.

  • Follow all safety procedures, equipment guidelines, and company policies while operating machinery and forklifts.

  • Collaborate with other crew members to coordinate tasks, maintain productivity, and support smooth shift handoffs.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience operating production or manufacturing machines.

  • At least 1 year of experience operating a sit-down forklift in an industrial or warehouse environment.

  • At least 1 year of experience performing product or material inspections in a production setting.

  • Proficiency in basic machine operation, including starting, stopping, and monitoring automated equipment.

  • Ability to perform routine troubleshooting on machines to resolve minor issues or identify when to escalate.

  • Material handling skills, including safely moving, staging, and organizing raw materials and finished products.

  • Ability to conduct visual inspections and quality checks with attention to detail.

  • Comfort working night shifts on a 2/2/3 rotation schedule.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety and operational procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with blow molding or injection molding processes.

  • Previous experience working with palletizing machines or similar automated packaging equipment.

  • Familiarity with inspection standards and basic quality control practices.

  • Ability to work effectively in a small crew environment and communicate clearly with team members.

Work Environment

This is a night shift position working from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on a 2/2/3 rotation schedule, providing a repeating pattern of workdays and days off. New hires train on the day shift for approximately 2–3 weeks before moving to nights. The facility is clean and connected to a larger beverage production operation, with three bottle machines feeding into two palletizing machines. Each crew consists of about five employees, creating a small-team environment where collaboration is important. Work involves operating palletizing machinery, supporting molding operations, and using a sit-down forklift for material handling within an industrial production setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.
