The Fabrication Machine Operator II (FMO II) - Tube Mill is an intermediate?level machining position responsible for operating and performing authorized set?ups on tube mills and other fabrication equipment as needed. This role works under general supervision, receives specific work assignments, and resolves most operating issues independently with minimal supervisory assistance.
All work is subject to first?piece, in?process, and final inspections to ensure quality standards are met, metal damage is minimized, and labor and material costs are controlled. The FMO II is expected to adhere strictly to department 6S , safety, and ISO standards .
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Review job and production orders; interpret accompanying prints, shop drawings, and blueprints to determine job requirements.
Verify accuracy of information and identify discrepancies or special job requirements.
Select and verify appropriate materials, processes, and equipment for assigned work.
Perform machine set?ups and adjustments, including authorized program changes.
Prepare and clean product surfaces as required for fabrication operations.
Operate tube mills and other fabrication equipment to produce components and structures.
Monitor machine performance and product output during production to ensure quality and efficiency.
Perform in?process inspections and support final inspections as required.
Maintain housekeeping standards and comply with all safety, 6S, and ISO procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Basic knowledge of metal fabrication processes
Ability to read and understand job specifications, blueprints, and shop drawings
Ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations related to fabrication
Skill in operating and maintaining fabrication equipment and hand tools, including:
Scales
Protractors
Fixed?angle and radius gauges
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Experience & Education:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience operating specific assigned fabrication machinery (e.g., tube mills)
Formal apprenticeship training is preferred but not required

Pay Details: $20.50 per hour
