Job Title: Master Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic to join our union workforce. As part of our team, you will perform preventive, corrective, and routine maintenance on company equipment and systems. You will also be required to safely and proficiently operate hand tools, shop machinery, and related equipment. The position offers a competitive starting wage with scheduled increases and the potential for additional annual raises through ongoing union negotiations. New hires typically train on the day shift and, due to seniority rules, are expected to transition to an off-shift after the training period.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and routine maintenance on company equipment and systems.

  • Operate hand tools, shop machinery, and related equipment safely and proficiently.

  • Perform all maintenance work as assigned for which you are qualified.

  • Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures.

  • Operate equipment and tools according to training and certification requirements.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.

  • Comply with union guidelines, company policies, and work rules.

Essential Skills

  • 1–2 years of manufacturing experience.

  • Experience as a Machinist or equivalent.

  • Journeyman L&I license or completion of an approved apprenticeship.

  • Expereince in facility maintenance.

  • Troubleshooting, mechanical, hydraulics, and maintenance technician skills.

  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, pneumatics, blueprint reading, electrical repair, and changeovers.

  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance and inspection equipment.

  • Experience in manufacturing maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, and industrial maintenance.

  • Understanding of motors, electrical maintenance, and schematics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to work assigned shifts, including off-shifts after training.

  • Strong attendance and reliability.

  • Willingness to learn and follow detailed procedures.

  • Ability to work in a unionized environment.

  • Prior manufacturing, production, or operations experience preferred.

Work Environment

This position is within a manufacturing environment involving the furnace and melting of tubes. New hires train on the day shift and transition to off-shifts after training. Work in a unionized setting that emphasizes safety and efficiency.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kennewick, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.84 - $36.84/hr.
