This job order is for 2 separate job duties. August Nov the worker will be a CDL semi driver has described below under 53-3032 Heavy & Tractor trailer truck driver. Nov March he will be a farm equipment mechanic under 49-3041 farm equipment mechanic.
Job Duties:
(53-3032) Agricultural Truck Drivers will load and unload trucks. Workers will drive employers trucks to deliver their crops to customers. Workers will check and load related documentation for completeness and accuracy. Workers will inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure. Workers will check vehicles to ensure that mechanical safety and emergency equipment is in good working order. Workers must maintain accurate logs of working hours, of vehicle service and/or repair statuses.
(49-3041) Farm Equipment Mechanic: Workers will perform various duties all associated with diagnosing, adjusting, repairing and overhauling diesel farm machinery and gas vehicles such as tractors, trucks, farm implements, etc. Duties will include, but will not be limited to the following: Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, forklifts, trailers, any and all equipment used during the planting, production, and harvest of crops. Record details of repairs made and parts used. Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation, and adjusting, as necessary. Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports as to problems determine to be repaired. Maintain -repair maintenance records. Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear. Test and replace electrical wiring components for proper functioning, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools. Test mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning. Tune or overhaul engines. Perform routine maintenance on vehicle and farm equipment such as change oil and filters, brakes, brake pads and repair tires. Knowledgeable and repair in hydraulic systems Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, and grinders. Repair worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts. Install machine or equipment replacement parts. Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair. Repair defective engines or engine components. Adjust vehicle/equipment components to ensure optimal performance, according to specifications. Reassemble equipment after repair. Clean equipment, parts, or tools to repair or maintain them in good working order. Diagnosing, adjust, repair all small engine equipment such as mowers, trimmers and power washers. Replace components, such as carburetors, fuel pumps, generators, ignition points and spark plugs. reassemble, adjust and equipment to ensure efficient operation. May install and repair wiring and motors to maintain farm electrical system. May assist other workers in more complex maintenance tasks, such as overhaul of machinery and equipment.
Requirements:
- Must have at least 12 months experience operating a semi to haul agricultural products.
- Must lifting 75 lbs.
- CDL Driving License
- Exposure to extreme temps, repetitive movements, extensive push/pulling and extensive walking.
- Frequent stooping
- Post-hire drug screening at employer expense.
