Schauenburg Systems Quality Control Supervisor - Head Office, Kempton Park in Kempton Park, South Africa

Job Purpose

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of Quality Control Technicians and Inspectors to ensure that all products meet established quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements, including CE, ATEX, and IECEx standards. This role involves implementing and maintaining quality control processes, overseeing inspections, and promoting adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards. The supervisor will also lead continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that quality management systems and information security policies are upheld.

Minimum Requirements

• National Qualification N6 Electronics

• Relevant certifications in quality control (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO9001, Total Quality Management) are highly desirable.

• Accredited through MASC on SANS1438 and SANS1515 Batch testing

• ISO9001 Awareness Training

• ISO9001 Internal Auditor

• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in quality control or assurance within a manufacturing environment.

• Minimum of 2 years' experience Technical Experience

• Proven experience in implementing and maintaining quality processes in compliance with CE, ATEX, and IECEx standards.

• Familiarity with standard inspection tools and equipment

• Computer skills (MS Office package)

• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the Quality Control team, ensuring effective workflow and productivity in inspections and testing procedures.

  • Implement and maintain quality control processes in alignment with CE, ATEX, and IECEx standards, ensuring compliance throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

  • Conduct regular training and development sessions for the Quality Control team on quality assurance procedures, industry standards, HSE compliance, and information security policies.

  • Perform quality audits and inspections, analyzing results to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement; prepare reports for management review.

  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality issues, implement solutions, and ensure products meet safety and quality standards.

  • Lead root cause analysis investigations on non-conformance and customer complaints, implementing corrective and preventive actions effectively.

  • Promote a culture of safety by ensuring all team members adhere to HSE standards and protocols during inspection and testing activities.

  • Ensure that all documentation related to quality control, regulatory compliance, and information security is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible for audits.

  • Collaborate with the Quality Control Coordinator and Manager to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and process efficiency.

• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, and compliance documentation, and prepare comprehensive reports for management.

• Training and Development: Facilitate training sessions for team members on quality protocols, HSE compliance, and information security best practices.

• Problem-Solving: Lead investigations into quality failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions in a timely manner.

Knowledge

• Quality Standards: In-depth knowledge of CE, ATEX, and IECEx standards, as well as general quality assurance principles and methodologies.

• Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements pertaining to quality and HSE standards.

• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of engineering processes, especially regarding product specifications and technical documentation.
