JOB REQUIREMENTS - SUMMER EMPLOYMENT

• Lift, lower and/or carry short distances, without assistance, items weighing up to 70 pounds
• Help in the raising of headstones of all sizes and weights
• Operate riding and/or walk behind mowers for long periods of time
• Dig with hand shovel for long periods of time
• Be prompt in reporting for work
• Communicate effectively and without conflict with coworkers and the public
• Use a gas powered trimmer weighing up to 50 pounds for long periods of time
• Accept direction from Supervisor and/or Sexton
• Perform general maintenance on equipment and buildings
• Any and all duties as required by supervision

JOB DUTIES FOR ALL SUMMER EMPLOYEES

1. Mow lawns with walk-behinds or Toro (walk-behinds mow where Toro can't get to)
2. Trim all trees, headstones, bushes, sprinklers, roadways (where mowers can't get to) and fence lines
3. Service equipment (grease, change oil, clean, etc)
4. Remove all grass from inside of bushes and humps
5. Paint where needed
6. Fix fences and sprinkler system
7. Trim tree branches
8. Clean shop, office (shampoo carpets, wash dishes, etc) and general cleanup of the cemetery
9. Sweep streets with hand brooms
10. Wash trucks and windows
11. Assist in spraying weeds or spray grass in cracks of the road
12. Assist in repairs of equipment
13. Lay sod, plant grass, and plant flowers
14. Fertilize lawns
15. Rake rocks and manure
16. Remove and replace concrete
17. Compact graves or wherever is needed, cut sod, and raise headstones
18. Help dig graves
19. Help survey
20. Haul manure, dirt, and gravel
21. Gas gophers
22. Remove and replace carpet
23. Cut weeds and sagebrush
24. Office work if needed
25. Help the public if asked by supervisor or superintendent
26. General landscaping
27. Any and all other duties assigned by management that we see fit. Because if we have to do it we don't need you
