Ecora Environmental Services Discipline Lead in Kelowna, British Columbia
About the Opportunity
Ecora Consultants Ltd. is seeking an experienced and driven Environmental Services Discipline Lead to join our senior leadership team. This is a pivotal role that carries meaningful responsibility: you will be the strategic and operational head of our Environmental Services discipline across our British Columbia and Alberta offices, overseeing two core practice areas — Biology & Natural Sciences and Contaminated Sites.
This position is best suited to a seasoned environmental professional who is as comfortable reviewing a complex environmental assessment as they are building a business case, mentoring a junior scientist, or presenting to a senior client. You will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and work in close collaboration with Sector Leads, Account Managers, and other Discipline Leads to strengthen technical excellence, operational efficiency, and disciplined growth.
Ecora's Environmental Services team delivers comprehensive consulting services in support of infrastructure development, resource management, municipal and provincial initiatives, and private sector projects. Our team works closely with provincial government agencies, municipalities, First Nation communities, developers, and multidisciplinary project teams throughout BC and Alberta.
What You'll Be Responsible For

Lead and implement continuous operational improvements across the Environmental Services discipline
Oversee monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) performance for the discipline and review weekly performance metrics with the COO
Maintain labour forecasts and workload planning to ensure appropriate resourcing across BC and Alberta offices

People & Team Development
Provide active mentorship and structured professional development to team members across both practice areas and multiple offices
Identify training needs and contribute to the development of internal training resources and quality management systems
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture
Business Development & Strategy
Collaborate on business development initiatives, including proposal preparation, client relationship management, and opportunity identification
Contribute to long-term strategic planning for the Environmental Services discipline in alignment with Ecora's broader growth objectives
Support marketing and positioning initiatives that reflect the depth and breadth of the discipline
Required Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Geology, or a closely related field
Minimum 10 years of consulting experience in environmental services, with demonstrated expertise across both biological/natural sciences and contaminated sites
Minimum 5 years of leadership or management experience, including P&L responsibility or equivalent operational accountability
Registered professional designation — P.Eng., P.Geo., R.P.Bio., P.Ag., or equivalent; candidates holding designations that bridge both practice areas, or who can demonstrate strong management of cross-disciplinary teams, are particularly encouraged to apply

Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, risk management, and resource planning
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical content to diverse audiences
