Role: Direct Care Professional

As a Direct Care Professional, youll be essential in bringing our mission to life. Your role includes assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily activities, providing transportation, and building a warm, supportive environment that aligns with our values.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
  • Assist people receiving services to grow using normalized experiences.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff.
  • Display a caring attitude.
  • Receive corrective feedback and make necessary changes.
  • Document responses of individuals receiving services to training, following physicians orders, inappropriate behavior.
  • Keep or assist in keeping the work site clean, neat, attractive, and in good repair.
  • Safely operate motor vehicle.

Additional Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with other staff to ensure each person receiving services is assured a program that promotes choices, competencies, and a place in the community.
  • Provide protective supervision through observation and monitoring.
  • Provide training, services, or supports to people with intellectual disabilities in areas deemed appropriate by the Team or other professionals.
  • Deliver individualized skills and socialization services.
  • Complete timely documentation to support billing and payment.
  • Transport people receiving services in available company-owned/leased vehicles.
  • Ensure the worksite is kept clean, neat, and attractive and report items needing maintenance and/or repairs.
  • Assist individuals receiving services with recreational activities on-site and off-site.
  • Be involved in every aspect of the lives of individuals receiving services.
  • Ensure the worksite is in top condition at all times.
  • Communicate in only positive terms when interacting with families and friends of the people being served.
  • Supervise people receiving services when they self-administer medications.
  • Perform other duties and functions as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.60 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 48 per week
