Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Associate’s degree in accounting, business or similar field of study preferred

Work Experiences:

  • 4+ years in an accounting, professional office or relevant work experience required

  • Familiarity of standard accounting concepts, practices and procedures preferred

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of corporate travel and expense policies and auditing practices

  • Experience with Oracle (or similar ERP/expense management systems)

  • Analytical, with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels, both internal and external

  • Ability to anticipate deadlines and next steps, and act on them proactively

  • Provide superior customer service, demonstrating sound logic and judgment

  • Consistently operate with the highest level of discernment and confidentiality

  • Ability to operate professionally, effectively and ethically as an individual contributor and member of a team

  • Ability to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines within a high volume, fast-paced environment

  • Ability to establish rapport and maintain harmonious working relationships

  • Ability to effectively react and resolve conflict

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze expense reports and apply judgement to approve, escalate, or reject submissions based on policy compliance and business rationale

  • Monitor and analyze corporate credit card usage across all departments

  • Detect unauthorized transactions and independently initiate reimbursement processes to recover corporate funds

  • Educate, train and provide support to cardholders with questions, policy clarification, and issue resolution

  • Maintain and enforce corporate travel and entertainment policies

  • Identify opportunities and recommend changes to the Travel and Entertainment (T&E) policy and procedures based on audit findings, industry trends, and employee behavior to improve compliance and cost control

  • Collaborate directly with IT to troubleshoot Oracle expense module issues, including opening and tracking IT tickets, testing fixes, and making recommendations to improve user experience

  • Prioritize resources and coordinate efforts in problem resolution to minimize interruption in business activities

  • Maintain ongoing communication with cardholders who are out of compliance, tracking and following up on outstanding expense reports or non-compliant submissions to ensure timely resolution and adherence to company policy

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all travel and entertainment expense processes and policies, the Oracle Expense module and the Bank of America (BOA) Works platform

  • Manage the corporate Travel and Entertainment (T&E) inbox, simultaneously prioritizing tasks based on criticality while also ensuring timely resolution and response

  • Develop and maintain internal documentation related to Travel and Entertainment (T&E) policies and procedures

  • Prepare and distribute weekly and ad hoc financial reports

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Academy’s policies, procedures and safety rules

  • Duties may change; team member may be required to perform other duties as assigned
