Job Description
We are looking for a Global Trade Specialist to join our client's Engineering Operations team. This position will be a 3-6 month contract, full-time , and on-site .
What You’ll Do
Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure all import and export activities comply with applicable global trade regulations
Facilitate classification of products using Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN)
Ensure compliance with U.S. and international import/export laws, including EAR, ITAR (if applicable)
Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to support new product introductions and changes
Maintain trade compliance data within Jurisdiction and Classification systems
Ensure adherence to internal compliance policies, procedures, and Quality Management System requirements
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to trade compliance processes
Manage interfaces to trade compliance and technical experts for proper classification of materials
Contribute to maintaining data integrity during the development of new products and designs
What You'll Need
Required
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum 1 year of experience in trade compliance, customs, or global logistics
Working knowledge of import/export regulations, HTS classification, and country-of-origin rules
Experience working with ERP systems and compliance databases.
Proficiency in standard office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Effective interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred
Prior experience or demonstrated exposure to REACH and RoHS regulations, including material compliance concepts and restriction requirements
Experience supporting product environmental compliance activities in coordination with Engineering, Supply Chain, or Environmental Compliance teams.
Familiarity with material declarations, substance data collection, and supplier compliance documentation
Understanding of how REACH and RoHS requirements intersect with trade compliance activities such as product classification, country of origin, and ERP data management
Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and support accurate data maintenance for environmental and trade compliance
Experience working cross-functionally to support new product introductions (NPI) and engineering changes with compliance considerations
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person.
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

$40.00 per hour
The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
