Job Description
Has a complete understanding of the functions of, SPD. Performs decontamination, processing and sterilization of instrumentation. Anticipate, identify and effectively respond to the needs of surgery, with respect to the needed sterile equipment/supplies Also, assures that surgical case carts are prepared completely and accurately. Act as a charge person on alternating weekends to assure proper work flow. Will alternate call with the other Team Leaders to assure coverage of the department as well as acting as a resource for questions.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Certified Central Service Technician, completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Program, or 5 years experience as an instrument technician in an operating room setting
Good communication skills.
Able to lift and carriy up to 50lbs. and push 150lbs Ability to lead a team.
Working knowledge of computers, Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Supervisory experience. 1 year experience as scrub or instrument technician
