This is an associate to hire opportunity.\ \ Shipping Assistant Responsibilities include but are not limited to:\ - Assist with checking in truck drivers\ - Answer phone calls\ - Assist with checking emails for inbound/outbound shipments\ - Operate inventory warehouse management system effectively, including, but not limited to, creating outbounds, scanning finished goods, and using item locator\ - Ensure all information on ship orders match shipping labels\ - Provide dock assignments to Logistics Scheduler as external truck drivers arrive\ - Ensure finished goods are safely and efficiently loaded onto trucks\ - Use web-based quality management system to perform quality inspections\ - Ensure accuracy of all shipping documents prior to providing them to external truck drivers\ - Plan warehousing locations for all finished goods\ - Perform internal location audits\ - Operate forklift as needed\ - Serve as a backup to Shipping Coordinator\ - Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety rules\ - Ability to work a flexible schedule if necessary\ - Attendance is an essential function of the role\ \ Shipping Assistant Requirements:\ - High school diploma or equivalent\ - Must have good English written and verbal communication skills\ - Good arithmetic skills are required\ - General proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)\ - Prior shipping experience in a warehouse setting\ - Prior sit-down forklift experience\ - Preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish\ - Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, grip, reach, push, and pull with both hands\ - Must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift/move 75 pounds\ - Ability to stand for 8+ hours per day
