Compensation Range
Hourly: $23.80 - $27.65 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)
About This Job
The main purpose of this job is to accurately process Held Away/Shadow and 401(k) transactions to ensure outside custodian activity is timely and correctly reflected in the Trust Accounting System. This role also supports client onboarding, reconciliation, fund valuation activities, and quality reviews while managing multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
Work Schedule
- First shift (flexible hours between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
Essential Functions
Process Held Away/Shadow and 401(K) transactions to ensure outside custodian activity is accurately and timely reflected in the Trust Accounting System
Work with Trust Accounting Vendor to establish new clients for Fund Valuation Services. This includes collaboration to ensure all client-related requirements are met during the onboarding process.
Ensure Held Away/Fund Valuation is performed accurately to avoid critically impacting downstream processes and inaccurate client reporting including Trust Fees, which may result in reputational loss with clients and advisors
Monitor, research, and resolve out of balances appearing on Held Away/Fund Valuation related reconciliation reports
Perform and review all functions associated with Fund Valuations, including NAV calculations for institutional portfolios, and assess impacts to NAV
Evaluate current procedures and present ideas for process improvement relative to client experience, efficiency, or automation
Expand Wealth Processing knowledge by participating in cross functional training within the department
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Demonstrate subject matter expert (SME) knowledge of Held Away/Shadow/Fund Valuation processes and the impact these functions have from both the client and liability perspective
Ability to recognize the critical impact of accurate valuation/pricing and how it affects clients and other business lines
Ability to resolve complex issues related to Funds Valuations, Held-Away or 401K Processing.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to solve challenging issues and make decisions related to Fund Valuation and Held Away Processing
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and perform varied assignments with frequent distractions
Proactively identify, mitigate, and communicate liability risks related to Trust Held Away and Fund Valuation activities
Identify opportunities for process improvement and process efficiencies.
Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
Advance level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
Education & Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
3+ years of Financial Services Industry related experience with securities knowledge required

At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $23.80 to $27.65 per hour.
