Motrex LLC Senior Maintenance Technician in Kansas City, Missouri
Overview
Senior Maintenance Technicians are responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, repair, and optimization of manufacturing equipment, including but not limited to mills, punch presses, casting machines, and automated systems.
This role requires advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, PLC troubleshooting, and fabrication skills to diagnose issues, minimize downtime, and support efficient production. This position plays a key role in maintaining equipment performance, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and ensuring the overall efficiency of plant operations. We’re looking for a positive, hands‑on problem solver who’s ready to jump in and make an impact.
Pay rate is $36-$40 per hour, depending on experience.
Shifts Available:
1 – 12hr shift, nights
1 – 8hr shift (M-F), 2nd shift

Responsibilities
Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities to reduce unplanned downtime.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
Conduct die changeovers, conversions, sharpening, and repairs to support consistent part quality and equipment performance.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Uses mechanic skills and familiar with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Inspect, repair, and adjust mechanical components such as bearings, gearboxes, motors, valves, hydraulic lines, and coolant systems.
Execute welding and fabrication tasks for equipment repair and fixture creation.
Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Participate in training and development programs including all areas of environmental, health and safety issues, especially those dealing with proper handling of hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
Position requires handling scraps materials and disposable protective clothing containing lead which requires proper disposal as a hazardous waste, which are to be disposed of in appropriately marked hazardous waste containers
Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and hazardous material handling.
Perform appropriate housekeeping tasks as needed
Performs other responsibilities and duties assigned by manager
Qualifications
Education, Experience, Certifications
5+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience required.
Advanced electrical and troubleshooting experience.
PLC skills are strongly preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent required; AA degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical maintenance is a plus.
Achieve a passing score on the pre-employment assessment.
Experience as an auto tech, from technical/trade school or factory will transfer to this position (you likely have used basic hand and power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, drills, grinders, etc.)

Able to see, hear and speak; able to sit, stand for at least two hours at a time, sit, bend, crawl, squat, kneel, and climb able to use both arms and hands to use a computer and peripherals and lift 40 pounds from floor level, able to work below ground level in confined spaces and on stationary or mobile elevated platforms, able to wear a respirator and other PPE as required, able to climb stairs. Able to work extended shifts and weekends as needed.
