THE ROLE : The Outside Sales Territory Manager will be responsible for selling Smith-Blair’s products to distributers and end users within a territory that includes Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas . Successful candidate will be required to live somewhere within the assigned territory. The Territory Manager will generate and develop new channel partners while maintaining healthy relationships with current partners.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Responsible for new accounts development and/or expanding existing accounts within the distribution or retail sales channel.
Responsible for creating an awareness and demand for company products.
Must have a thorough knowledge of clamp and coupling products and their associated applications.
Must have the ability to plan sales effort to thoroughly cover assigned geographic territory and penetrate available markets.
Manages sales efforts to improve profitability.
Direct sales efforts to have Smith-Blair product features specified by end user customers.
Develop and manage territory sales AOP and expense AOP.
Solve sales and product problems/issues in assigned territory.
Improve and maintain customer relation s with all major accounts and distributors within territory.
Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities.
Other ad-hoc duties and analyses as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in sales
Minimum 3+ years Outside Sales experience.
Knowledge of hydraulic, water flow, water, wastewater is a plus.
Proven presentation and communication skills including face-to-face interaction.
Must have strong math skills.
Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power/Point), Oracle based system experience desired.
Must have effective interpersonal skills with customers, employees, and management team.
Previous experience in the use of Salesforce.com or other CRM’s is required.
Ability to present product education seminars to groups of 20-40 people is a must.
Ability to meet and continuously maintain authorization to operate a company vehicle .
Travel requirement at 60%
SALARY & BENEFITS
The estimated salary range for the position is $80,000 - $100,000 plus bonus. Starting salary is dependent on multiple factors including skills, experience and work location.
