Actalent Quality Control Analyst in Kansas City, Missouri

As a Quality Control Analyst, you will be responsible for gathering and testing samples within the expected time frame, entering results into SAP, and storing retains as required. You will maintain accurate and legible test records, perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks in the laboratory, and assist with minor equipment troubleshooting. You will also support customer pre-ship sample order requests, prepare samples for external testing, and conduct analysis for special projects and nonconforming product investigations.
Responsibilities
Gather and test samples within the expected time frame, enter results into SAP, and store retains as required.
Maintain complete, accurate, and legible test records according to company policies.
Perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks for the laboratory environment and testing equipment.
Assist with minor laboratory equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
Support customer pre-ship sample order requests, including obtaining, packaging, and shipping samples.
Prepare and ship samples for external laboratory testing.
Perform testing and conduct analysis for special projects and nonconforming product investigations.
Fill laboratory shift vacancies as needed.
Assist with maintaining and updating laboratory procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, or related field (non-negotiable).
Attention to detail.
Ability to multitask.
Strong computer skills with word, database, and spreadsheet experience.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills, including statistical analysis.
Experience with laboratory bench practices and equipment management.
Ability to organize and prioritize work for timely completion.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Entry-level candidates and new graduates are welcome to apply.
Experience in quality control, chemistry, biology, titration, viscosity, pH, HPLC, GCMS, and chemical analysis is beneficial.
Experience with wet chemistry and instrumentation (Braebender, AntonPaar, Variomax, Bruker NIR).
General lab tasks experience: pH, moisture balance, analytical balances, pipettes, volumetric measures, ovens, stir plate, mixers, warming plates.
Offer help when tasks are quiet.
Work Environment
Located in North Kansas City, this position involves performing analytical tests independently and accurately per test procedures. You will fulfill customer sample order requests according to current procedures. The role includes paid training, with training conducted on weekdays from 7 am to 4 pm. After training, shifts are 12 hours, rotating weekly, and include night shifts. The facility operates 24/7, including holidays. You will work with two people on the night shift and will be required to wear PPE such as goggles, steel-toed boots, and gloves. If working in the plant area, a helmet is also required. The work environment is direct and fair, with monthly performance reviews.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
