LSI Staffing Machine Operator in Kansas City, Missouri

Temp to Hire

Machine Operator – Wire Recycling Production Line

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 5:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our wire recycling production team. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and plays a key role in achieving company goals related to safety, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up machines for production (calibration, cleaning, etc.)

  • Operate and maintain wire processing equipment efficiently

  • Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met

  • Maintain attention to detail in all operations

  • Operate a forklift to load, unload, and move materials

  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe

  • Meet production goals (chop rates, changeover times, etc.)

  • Attend required training and safety meetings

  • Perform basic equipment maintenance

  • Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous machine operator experience preferred

  • Familiarity with PLC/computerized equipment controls

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Forklift experience required

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools

Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to follow safety procedures and policies

  • Adaptable in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

  • Strong work ethic and reliability

  • Team-oriented with good communication skills

Working Conditions:

This position operates in a heavy industrial environment. Duties may include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working in a loud setting. Required PPE includes safety glasses, vest, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots. Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and working on uneven surfaces may be required.
