Job Title: Inspector

Job Description

This role focuses on performing thorough quality inspections and tests on finished metal products in a manufacturing environment. The inspector uses hand and power tools daily, handles and lifts metal components, and ensures that all products meet established quality standards. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential to succeed in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed quality inspections on finished metal products to ensure they meet specified standards and requirements.

  • Conduct quality tests using appropriate tools and methods to verify product accuracy and performance.

  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during inspection and testing activities.

  • Carry, move, and lift metal products as part of the inspection and general labor process.

  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain organized records of quality checks.

  • Identify nonconforming products and communicate issues clearly to the appropriate personnel.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area to support efficient inspection and manufacturing operations.

  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with metal products, tools, and equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Experience performing quality inspection and quality control in a manufacturing or shop environment.

  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools for accurate inspections.

  • Hands-on experience with metal fabrication or metal finishing processes.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify defects or inconsistencies in finished products.

  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Good organizational skills to manage inspection tasks and documentation.

  • Physical ability to lift, move, and handle metal products throughout the shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Any certifications related to manufacturing or quality control are a plus.

  • Previous experience in manufacturing inspection or quality check roles.

  • Familiarity with general shop practices and safety procedures in a production environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
