What We Do
As the Financial Reporting Manager, you will lead a team within the Corporate Accounting and Finance department responsible for the accounting of operating expenses and other income as well as the consolidation and reporting of our monthly financial statements. Your team will also oversee the company’s annual budgeting and fourth-quarter forecasting processes, prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and provide insightful variance analyses. Additionally, your team will prepare annual financial statements and disclosures, working closely with auditors to meet critical deadlines.
This role offers broad exposure to senior leadership, including our executive team. You’ll play a key role in company-wide and department-wide initiatives, leveraging your technical expertise and deep understanding of our business to evaluate and solve complex challenges, driving lasting value for the company.
This position operates in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and requires the ability to effectively balance multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy, quality, responsiveness, and team morale.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure transactions are accurately accounted for in the general ledger and appropriately presented in the monthly financial statements.
Research and provide guidance on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and related requirements.
Review journal entries, reconciliations, overhead analyses and other ad hoc reports prepared by the financial reporting team.
Ensure the month-end close process and reporting deliverables are completed on time.
Review and validate financial statement analyses and budget-to-actual variance explanations prepared by the team.
Evaluate new disclosure requirements for annual financial reports and ensure compliance.
Coordinate audit deliverables to ensure accuracy and timeliness during year-end financial statement audits.
Oversee the company’s budgeting and forecasting processes, recommending and implementing process improvements and efficiencies.
Ensure the budgeting and forecasting processes are running smoothly, the budgeting tools are functioning appropriately, and internal clients are well supported throughout the budgeting process.
Supervise staff, ensuring adequate coverage for critical tasks; provide training over processes and process changes.
Guide and mentor team members through recruiting, development, career pathing, and retention efforts.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment that supports accountability, morale, and professional growth.
Identify and drive process improvements across accounting and financial reporting processes and expand the team’s partnership with our India office.
Leverage AI-enabled tools, automation, and reporting solutions to improve efficiency, enhance accuracy, and reduce manual effort.
Lead the team through change in a dynamic environment, help prioritize work, remove obstacles, and maintain strong performance during periods of high demand.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant accounting experience (eleven (11) years strongly preferred) with significant experience and technical skills in financial reporting; extra credit may be given for public accounting experience.
Experience with auditing processes or serving as a key audit contact.
Ability to research and resolve complex accounting issues.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining strong team collaboration, morale, and accountability is strongly preferred.
Experience identifying and implementing process improvements through automation, AI-enabled tools, or other technology solutions preferred.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
Must possess strong project management skills and a strategic perspective.
Must be proficient in the use of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
