Job Description
As a Community Support Specialist , you’ll be on the front lines of client care, offering behavioral and socially rehabilitative services that help people lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. You’ll work closely with clients to understand their unique needs and provide the support they need in key areas such as emotional wellbeing, finances, social life, and career goals. You’ll also collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure every client gets the comprehensive care they deserve.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Psychology, Social Work, relevant human services field, Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support , or the equivalent in a combination of a degree, college course work and experience.
Must have good verbal and written communication skill
Good leadership skills
Ability to evaluate program outcomes
Ability to work with multicultural staff and clientele
Must be willing and able to meet with clientele in the community to include, but not limited to, community gathering spaces, Drop-In Centers and homes.
If driving is a requirement for the employee, he/she must meet the requirements specified in the Fleet Driving Safety and Compliance Policy and must continue to meet these requirements as a condition of employment. (Have a valid driver’s license and pass MVR criteria).
When working in the Employment Services department possesses an approved Benefits Planning certification, or will obtain it within 12 months of employment to remain in the position.
Completion of training as directed through orientation and/or by Leadership, Management or Educators in the established timeline for continued employment
