We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support a large-scale civil, dirt-based construction project, starting with a Data Center project in Oklahoma. This role will begin as a contract position, with the opportunity to continue supporting additional projects out of the Kansas City, MO office after the initial assignment. The ideal candidate has experience supporting project managers on commercial civil construction projects and is comfortable working in fast-paced, field-driven environments.
Responsibilities
Support the Project Manager with day-to-day execution of civil construction projects.
Assist with project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily reports.
Track project schedules, material deliveries, and subcontractor coordination.
Maintain accurate project records using industry-standard construction documentation software.
Participate in project meetings and assist with meeting minutes and follow-up items.
Support cost tracking, quantity takeoffs, and basic estimating tasks as needed.
Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project milestones are met.
Assist with closeout documentation and turnover requirements.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager or similar role in commercial construction with a strong emphasis on civil/dirt-based projects.
Experience working on earthwork, site development, or underground utility projects.
Familiarity with construction documentation software commonly used in the civil construction industry.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with field and office teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in project coordination, commercial construction, and site development.
Work Environment
Must be open to travel for the first two months of the role to support the Data Center project in Oklahoma. After the initial assignment, the role will be based out of the Kansas City, MO area, supporting local and regional projects. The company offers an ESOP, fully vested after 3 years, providing hands-on exposure to complex, dirt-based construction work and a path to continued project support beyond the initial assignment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
