Burns & McDonnell Assistant Estimator - Facility Engineering Services (Kansas City) in Kansas City, Missouri
Description The Assistant Estimator assists in preparing estimates for engineering and design-build construction projects. This position will assist in preparing lump sum bids, proposals, unit cost and quantities for various projects with a diverse portfolio of project types and clients.
Assist in quantifying scopes of work for material and labor pricing.
Assist in obtaining quotes on bonds and insurance.
Assist with soliciting, evaluating and pre-qualifying small and disadvantaged businesses and subcontractors.
Assist in assembling and sending out subcontractor bid packages.
Assist in preparing material, specialty and standard equipment pricing.
Assist in preparing subcontractor labor market studies and pricing for bids.
Assist in documenting cost history, data base management and estimating process.
Assist in developing project summary schedules.
Assist with the evaluating and conditioning subcontractor and supplier quotes.
Assist in presenting estimates to external and internal clients.
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant degree Required or
Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Required
Ability to work independently or in groups, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, ConEst and K-base.
OSHA 10-hour certification Ability to obtain
