Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Manager who will be a role model for safety and promote a zero-injury safety culture. You will work closely with the plant leadership team to support strategic initiatives, enhance maintenance systems, and ensure all equipment performs at maximum capacity. Your role will involve leading and supervising the maintenance team to drive reliability and yield performance while developing their leadership, technical, and troubleshooting skills. Additionally, you will manage the maintenance budget and monthly expenditures, support line operations, and ensure adherence to OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a zero-injury safety culture and continuously improve workplace safety.

  • Engage with plant leadership to support strategic initiatives and oversee effective maintenance systems.

  • Provide leadership and supervision of the maintenance workforce, focusing on performance management and employee relations.

  • Develop the maintenance staff's skills in leadership, technical areas, and troubleshooting.

  • Manage ongoing training of the maintenance team to adapt to changing technology.

  • Collaborate on managing the maintenance budget and monthly spend.

  • Support line operations to achieve key performance measures.

  • Contribute to plant safety and environmental goals through established programs and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations such as Lock Out, Tag Out, and more.

  • Implement process improvements for the maintenance department's efficiency.

Essential Skills

  • 6-10+ years of experience as a Maintenance Manager in a heavy industrial environment.

  • Experience in maintenance management, supervision, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical.

  • Troubleshooting and preventive maintenance expertise.

  • PLC troubleshooting, blueprint, and schematic interpretation.

  • Strong skills in facility and industrial maintenance.

Work Environment

The work environment is physically demanding and often involves loud noise levels up to 83 decibels. Employees frequently engage in lifting, bending, stretching, and repetitive movements. The facility maintains a culture where teamwork and shared problem-solving are valued, with opportunities for motivated employees to excel. The Maintenance Manager is expected to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends, and be on call for emergencies. Safety equipment such as glasses, side shields, and approved safety shoes are required.

This is a Permanent position based out of Kankakee, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
