The Queen's Health Systems Supervisor, Ambulatory Clinics (Big Island, Full-Time, Day) in Kamuela, Hawaii

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervises and coordinates the business operations of the Ambulatory Clinics to ensure high-quality health care services and excellent customer service.

• Works collaboratively with management to insure the operations are in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and with the policies and procedures of Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital (QNHCH).

• Monitors operations to ensure consistency with established goals and objectives and the short and long range plans, and the mission of QNHCH and The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS).

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Essential: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.

• Continuous: sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.

• Frequent: walking.

• Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 5 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.

• Operates computer, typewriter, calculator, telephone, fax and printer.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

• Work includes traveling to different sites of physician practices.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, health care or related field; OR four (4) years experience in any and/or combination of the following: physician’s practice, health clinic operations, medical insurance, and physician practice services may substitute for the education requirement.

B. EXPERIENCE:

• In addition to the educational requirement, three (3) years experience in healthcare, preferably in a physician practice or acute care hospital.

• Prior supervisory/leadership experience.

• Experience to demonstrate:

o Ability to work effectively with physicians.

o Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement regulatory requirements.

o Knowledge of business principles, including business planning and budgeting.

o Knowledge of management information systems.
