We currently have an opportunity for an Asphalt Roller Operator to join our In-Town Paving Division supporting projects throughout the Flathead Valley.
Key Functions
Operates roller in successive overlapping passes over surfaces and rolling subgrade and asphalt to desired compaction and smoothness
Determines speed and direction of machine, based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures
Perform routine inspections on equipment and report any defects
Strict adherence to complying with safety policies and procedures
Safely operate equipment in and among live traffic
Must be willing to operate other equipment as needed
Must be able to travel to our jobs throughout Montana
Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years of operating experience strongly preferred
Experience as a roller operator preferred
Specific Skills

Ability to work in both teams and independently when needed with minimal supervision
Ability to communicate and interact both verbally and written
A keen eye to details and good decision-making skills
Manage to handle emergency situations, work pressure and stress
Ability to complete work projects on time and in an effective manner
Possess a deep analytical understanding and problem-solving skills
Devoted in following code of ethics
Good relationship building ability
Must be able to work various shifts, days and overtime as needed
Must be able to work out of town
Physical Requirements
Capable of lifting 25 to 50 lbs. regularly
Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement
Sit and/or stand for long periods of time
Reach with hands and arms
Bend at the waist, kneel, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull
Climb ladders/steps
Continuous use of hands and fine manipulation
Walk varying distances and on uneven ground at times
Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, and vibrations
Compensation
Hourly rate of pay $24 to $35 an hour based on experience

Year 1 – Employer covers 80% of total (family) premiums
Years 2 & 3 – Employer covers 90% of total (family) premiums
Years 4 or more - Employer covers 100% of total (family) premiums
