Actalent Project Manager in Kalamazoo, Michigan

Job Title: Project ManagerJob Description

The Engineering Project Manager will oversee all phases of capital project management, from conceptual estimates to equipment fabrication, commissioning, validation, start-up, and closeout. This role involves developing multi-objective project scopes, financial forecasts, and schedules while researching alternative solutions to provide cost-effective options for customers. The Project Manager will mainly support end-of-line packaging within the aseptic building and other projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop preliminary budgets and schedules for assigned projects.

  • Work closely with project sponsors and stakeholders to prepare Capital Project Appropriation requests (CPAs) that include project description, justification, cost estimates, budget, schedule, and analysis of alternatives.

  • Facilitate meetings, presentations, and reporting to ensure stakeholders are informed of project status and changes.

  • Develop Request for Proposal documents for design services, construction services, and major equipment items.

  • Develop Capital and Expense budget requests for future projects during the annual budget cycle.

  • Arrange training for maintenance and operating personnel, and ensure proper distribution of testing, certification, validation, and documentation.

  • Manage and coordinate successful project implementation, ensuring safety, timeliness, quality, cost-effectiveness, and legal compliance.

  • Administer, resolve, and control all design, construction, contractual, and financial issues.

  • Complete projects by starting-up and checking-out new equipment, inspecting construction, and resolving 'punch list' items.

  • Ensure frequent communication and conduct regular meetings between the Project Team and stakeholders.

  • Ensure all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements are met.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Experience in CapEx Project Management, managing full-cycle projects including initiation, concepting, scoping, scheduling, planning, budgeting, commissioning, and validation.

  • Experience working within Pharma/GMP environments.

  • Packaging experience.

  • Proficiency in Project Management Systems such as PowerPoint, MS Project, and Microsoft Project Online.

  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • PMP or PE license (nice to have).

Work Environment

This role supports projects in Portage and Kalamazoo, including two manufacturing facilities and one lab facility.

The work week is typically 40 hours, with potential for some overtime. The role offers access to over 150 Udemy courses after six months, including PMP Certification Exam Prep, Microsoft Project courses, and more.

This is a Contract position based out of Kalamazoo, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $55.29/hr.
