Actalent Construction Project Manager in Juno Beach, Florida

Job Title: Construction Project Manager - Battery StorageJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Construction Project Manager to act as the Owner’s representative for overseeing third-party Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) field electrical installations. This role includes managing DC systems, power conversion units, medium voltage AC collection systems, safety, SCADA, instrumentation, and overseeing electrical startup and commissioning. The position ensures compliance with engineering plans, project specifications, quality control, scheduling, and safety goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical scope including schedules and engineering interface.

  • Collaborate with various resources and sub suppliers to determine project priorities and work plans to meet milestones.

  • Report daily, weekly, and monthly on project progress, quality control, and safety.

  • Record, name, and upload electrical installation quality control photographs.

  • Facilitate processes with parties regarding requests for information and design change notifications.

  • Ensure projects are efficiently, effectively, and safely implemented in accordance with procedures, local regulations, contracts, and policies.

  • Verify constructability, advise and report on resource allocations, assess field status, and resolve issues as needed.

  • Develop and manage punch-lists through system walk-downs.

  • Review project completion packages for completeness and accuracy against as-built drawings.

  • Interface with designated safety, engineering, and quality control parties.

  • Oversee solar field commissioning activities.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of construction experience in Transmission, Substation, Battery, or Solar projects.

  • Background in utility construction, with preference in BESS, solar, or substation.

  • Proficiency in project management, budget, schedule oversight, and contractor management.

  • Knowledge of electrical construction means and methods, including NEC and NFPA standards.

  • Experience in drawing review and field electrical quality control inspection.

  • Strong organization and progress reporting skills.

  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with third parties and suppliers.

  • Understanding of schedule and planning processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and document control systems.

  • Experience with project management tools such as Primavera.

  • Knowledge of safety management, risk assessment, and QA/QC processes.

  • Experience in construction inspection and civil inspection.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

Work Environment

The role requires working onsite at construction sites across various locations including Texas, Nevada, California, and New Mexico. The position involves overseeing contractors performing the work, with travel home provided once a month as per GSA rates.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Juno Beach, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
