Prepare for calving season. Calve out calves during the calving season. Medicate, vaccinate and treat for seasonal sicknesses. Care for newborn calves and nursing mothers. Isolate sick calves. Fix and repair fencing damaged by drifting snow. Move cattle to and from summer grazing pastures. Wean all calves during the weaning season. Prepare fields for planting. Pick rocks and operate tractors to till the soil. Operate farming equipment in order to plant, spray, fertilize, harvest and haul grain crops. Bale and stack hay. Perform routine maintenance to farming equipment and make infield repairs when necessary. General farm upkeep duties such as facility maintenance and shop work.
Drivers license in 30 days. Clean driving record required.
A general work week is Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. However, because of the complexity of the crop conditions workers may be requested to work long days as well as on Saturdays, Sundays or Federal Holidays, depending upon the conditions of the commodities being produced. Therefore, hours above 57.5 per week may be offered but are not guaranteed.
