Jonesville Community Schools Teacher - Special Education in Jonesville, Michigan

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited teacher education program
  • Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations: State of Michigan Teaching Certification, Special Education Learning Disabilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned by principal):

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt lesson plans and instructional strategies to accommodate students.
  • Provide direct instruction in academic and life skills to students with disabilities in a supportive and engaging manner.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and adjust educational strategies accordingly.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student needs and coordinate services.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements.
  • Provide a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Stay informed about current trends, best practices, and legal requirements in special education. Attend professional development workshops and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
