The Structural Fitter is responsible for laying out and assembling fabricated parts and structural steel according to blueprints and specifications, ensuring compliance with AISC and AWS standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated metal parts for structural assemblies.
- Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and shop drawings accurately.
- Use hand tools, measuring devices, and hoists/overhead cranes to position and secure parts.
- Prepare materials for welding or riveting.
- Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all OSHA and company safety regulations.
- Regular and punctual attendance with flexibility for overtime and weekend shifts.
