What you will be doing: Responsible for performing routine clerical and administrative duties, in compliance with government and management directives.
Essential Functions :
Type correspondence, reports and letters and proofread material to verify accuracy.
Maintain records, files and appropriate office supplies.
Operate office equipment such as computers, copiers and calculating machines.
Log and distribute incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail, answer telephone and convey messages.
Reinforce positive interaction skills by greeting staff, students, and guests efficiently and respectfully.
Support CDSS by providing educational services to students in accordance with the center’s “wellness to employability” plan.
Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
Participate in student employability programs and activities.
Support, promote, and enforce Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent and one-year clerical experience.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
