Job Title: Material Handler / Circuit Card Assembler
Job Description
This role focuses on entry-level electronic and mechanical assembly of circuit card and related components, delivering high-quality work to defined standards while supporting continuous improvement, safety, and on-time customer delivery. You will follow detailed work instructions, use basic tools and equipment, and contribute to a clean, organized, and collaborative production environment.
Responsibilities
Produce high-quality work that meets prescribed standards, schedules, and budget expectations.
Follow written work instructions, build documentation, models, and drawings to complete assigned tasks accurately.
Perform entry-level assembly functions, including prep, mechanical assembly, harness and cable assembly, printed circuit board sub-assemblies, spray application, and inspection within Production.
Complete simple assemblies and hardware installations such as screws, washers, and nuts, ensuring proper fit and function.
Assemble electronic components for applications such as aircraft and submarines, following blueprints and wire tabulation.
Perform board assembly, circuit card assembly, and panel board assembly using appropriate tools and techniques.
Carry out wire harness and cable assembly tasks, including crimping, wiring, sleeving, and auto bonding.
Use hand tools, torque tools, and other production equipment correctly and safely.
Perform pull tests and verify tooling as required to confirm assembly quality and reliability.
Conduct basic troubleshooting on assemblies to identify and resolve simple issues.
Access and use production tools such as routers, parts lists, and work instructions to complete work accurately.
Support quality control by inspecting work, following quality standards, and addressing any nonconformities.
Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures, including those governing the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS).
Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and ESD controls as directed.
Participate in continuous improvement activities such as LEAN events, Six S activities, and action teams when requested.
Support, communicate, reinforce, and uphold the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
Work scheduled shifts reliably and meet expectations for overtime as required to support production demands.
Essential Skills
Experience with assembly work, particularly in circuit board or electronic assembly environments.
Ability to perform circuit board assembly and circuit card assembly following detailed instructions.
Skill in electronic assembly, including soldering and basic circuit board repair.
Mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical assembly and use of common hand tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, build documentation, and wire tabulation.
Experience with cable assembly, wire harness assembly, crimping, and wiring.
Familiarity with quality control practices in an assembly or production environment.
Capability to use torque tools, perform pull tests, and verify tooling.
Ability to follow safety procedures, including safe handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS).
High school diploma or GED.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Johnstown, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
