Pennsylvania Highlands Community College Full-Time Accountant in JOHNSTOWN, Pennsylvania

Location: Richland Campus/Hybrid

Full or Part Time: Full-Time

Annual Salary: $47,000 - $52,000 plus generous benefits package.

Job Scope:

The Full-Time Accountant works under the guidance of the Director of Finance & Accounting. The Accountant is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations for the College and the College Foundation and for preparing financial statements and all financial reporting as required, while ensuring this information meets standard accounting principles as well as state and federal regulations.

Education:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

Experience & Knowledge:

  1. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Ability to work independently and meet performance expectations.
  3. Minimum of 3 years' experience, preferably in higher education and/or a nonprofit organization, with demonstrated abilities in fiscal control, and demonstrated understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting. Ability to handle all aspects of accounting, from daily operations to complex reporting and compliance.

Computer Skills:

  1. Proficiency in standard office technology and communication platforms (Microsoft Office Suite, email, virtual meeting tools).
  2. Proficiency in Excel, Word and ERP systems, Jenzabar a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  1. A valid driver's license and ability to travel within the College's service region.
  2. Certifications -CPA, preferred.
  3. PA State Police Criminal Background Clearance
  4. PA Child Abuse Clearance
  5. FBI Criminal History Clearance
