Job Description
The Cab Crane Operator navigates heavy loads within an industrial setting from an elevated cabin, ensuring precise, safe movement of materials. Operators must inspect equipment, follow all safety standards, and possess a high level of coordination.
Essential Duties
Crane Operation:Utilize levers, pedals, and buttons to maneuver crane booms, hoists, and loads smoothly and accurately.
Safety & Inspection:Perform daily inspections of cables, hydraulic systems, and safety mechanisms; check site ground conditions and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Load Management:Calculate load weights, review capacity charts, and confirm proper rigging before lifting.
Communication:Coordinate with riggers and signal persons using hand signals or radio to ensure safe, efficient movement of materials.
Maintenance:Perform minor repairs, lubrication, and cleaning of the crane.
Education Level
High School diploma or GED
Experience
Work requires previous experience operating cranes (minimum 2 years) in construction or industrial environments.
Knowledge of crane load charts, rigging procedures, and safety protocols.
Strong verbal communication skills to coordinate with crews.
Ability to climb into the cab, and work at heights.

The employee is regularly required to stand on concrete and uneven surfaces. Work requires regular use of hands (including gripping & grasping), reaching with arms, including reaching overhead and outward frequently, and the ability to climb over and into equipment. The employee is frequently required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk and hear. The employee will frequently walk and must frequently lift and move objects over 50 lbs. Specific vision requirements: color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

This work is considered a High-risk Environment requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.
The employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
