JOB SUMMARY: To advise and lead the cheerleaders so they function as effectively as possible to instil school spirit at athletic events.

Professional Performance Criteria

  • Assist in preparation, maintenance, repair and storage of equipment.

  • Assist in issuing equipment.

  • Assist in seeing that training rules are enforced and violations are reported.

  • Carry out all duties assigned by the head coach.

  • Assist in seeing that injury and insurance reports are made and are on file.

  • Assist in maintaining the locker and equipment rooms in a proper manner.

  • Be at all practice sessions and all games or be available for a scouting assignment.

  • Assist with the checking in of equipment and in taking inventory.

  • Suggest to the head coach any new equipment needed.

  • Assist in the administration and supervision of the towels, locks and lockers used during the specific athletic season.

  • All other duties as assigned by head coach or Athletic Director.

  • Responsible for the directing, supervising and training of the cheerleaders.

  • Responsible for the conduct of the cheerleaders at practice sessions and at all contests.

  • Leads and directs the cheerleaders in such a way as to encourage good sportsmanship by example and leadership.

  • Conducts herself before the students and community so as to instil respect and good sportsmanship.

  • Assumes responsibility for an energetic public relations program for the cheerleaders and their activities.

  • Responsible for uniforms and supplies.

  • Sees that the cheerleaders carry out all their duties as set by the advisor's rules.

  • Conducts a clinic for tryouts of cheerleaders in the spring of the year and arranges for all judges for the tryouts.

  • Responsible for ordering awards and issuing awards to deserving cheerleaders.

  • Responsible for any other duties relating to cheerleaders as may be directed by the Athletic Director.
