ManpowerGroup Field Research Assistant in Johnston, Iowa
Our client, an innovative research organization specializing in agricultural sciences, is seeking a dedicated Field Research Assistant to join their team. As a Field Research Assistant, you will be an integral part of the research operations supporting the Phenotyping/Field Trial team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong teamwork, adaptability, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: Field Research Assistant
Experience in Agronomy, Plant Breeding, or experience with a research seed company
Location: Johnston, IA
Pay Range: $30-35 hour
Shift: Monday to Friday, with occasional overnight work as needed
What's the Job?
Participate as a team member supporting multicrop research activities including planting, harvesting, and data collection.
Operate research equipment for planting and harvesting operations.
Scout fields for pests and diseases, providing critical agronomic insights.
Collaborate with regional scouting teams and communicate effectively with all stakeholders to meet deadlines.
Support research projects and seed production activities, including seed preparation and supporting peak seasonal periods.
What's Needed?
Experience in Agronomy, Plant Breeding, or related research seed industry.
Technologically savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
