Enhanced Residence Aide
Full-Time, Monday - Friday
Hourly Rate: $20.75 - $22.00
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Enhanced Residence Aide enhances the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities by providing direct support for individuals who reside in Achieve operated facilities. This position includes all of the responsibilities of the Resident Aide PLUS shared responsibility for the coordination of medical and healthcare at assigned program(s)/residence(s), under the direct oversight of the Program Manager. This position’s specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the subsequent items:
Provide assistance and training to individuals supported in the areas of independent living skills (i.e.. ADLs) and personal care (i.e. showering, toileting, hygiene) according to regulatory guidelines and per agency practices, policies and procedures.
Serve as the primary in-program liaison and advocate to the medical community (i.e. doctors, nurses, therapists) in support of all individuals who reside in assigned program(s).
Transport individuals served to medical appointments and directly support them throughout the appointment through advocacy, communication and documentation.
Collaborate with program management and nursing staff in the delivery of in-program clinical supports including pharmaceutical and medical supply management.
Document and communicate information obtained from medical practitioners to supervisor, staff, individuals served and other key stakeholders in conformance with rules, regulations, policies and procedures and billing practices
Provide assistance with medical duties including administering medications and other healthcare services as prescribed and under the clinical supervision of a Registered Nurse
Ensure all incidents, accidents, observed or suspected situations which adversely impact on the health and safety of the individuals served are addressed in accordance with OPWDD regulatory requirements and agency policies and procedures
Attend and participate in all required and/or requested departmental, agency meetings and training as required by the agency and/or State and Federal regulations
Obtain and maintain required training certifications that include: First Aid, CPR, SCIP, Medication Certification, etc.
Any additional duties as assigned
Encourage and maintain a positive working relationship with all departments in the agency, family, staff, individuals receiving services and community
Comply with all State and Federal regulations along with agency policies and practices
Requirements
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and not have any lifting restrictions which would prohibit him/her from assisting with toileting, transfers, physical intervention, lifting, etc.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record acceptable to the Agency’s insurance carriers.
May be exposed to communicable diseases; exposure within the Residential and Day Habilitation Program is closely monitored. General precautions can greatly reduce the risk of exposure to infectious agents in the workplace, and employees/visitors should always follow appropriate universal precautions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma with knowledge of the medical field and experience working with the OPWDD population preferred
