UHS Cardiac Ultrasonographer in Johnson City, New York

Position OverviewTo ensure that Cardiology services rendered (the evaluation and treatment of patients) are completed in a timely, accurate, and reliable manner. Those serviced include inpatients and outpatients, UHS staff and employees, as well as affiliated UHSH community groups as needed. Priority is given to services which directly affect patients and supervised staff.

Compensation Range:

$37.00 - $55.50 per hour, depending on experience


Responsibilities:

  • Performs cardiac ultrasound exams that are used to evaluate cardiac structure and function to include 2D, M-mode, doppler color, TEE and stress echo.

  • Interprets exams for preliminary report in an attempt to identify critically abnormal findings and brings this information to the physician's attention.

  • Cleans and disinfects TEE probe in accordance with infection control standards.

  • Records and reports the results of all procedures.

  • Responds to calls for "stat/emergency echos" during hours when employee is not regularly scheduled.

  • Maintains accurate and appropriate records.

  • Abides by Service Delivery Standards.

  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Graduation from an accredited school for Cardiac Ultrasonography.

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

  • Certification from ARDMS or CCI is required.

  • CPR Certification within 3 months of hire.

Preferred:

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) via the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) via the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
