REQUIREMENTS: * Successful completion of an approved apprenticeship program for an electrical lineman * Valid Class A commercial driver\'s license (CDL) and associated Medical Examiners Certification * IBEW Journeyman Lineman status required before hire date * Reside within 20 road miles door-to-door from home to their district office * Union membership is required within 30 days after hire dare as a condition of continued employment. * High school diploma or equivalent KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: * Takes initiative/self-motivated * Lift, carry, pull, and push items that can weigh as much as 100 pounds * Climb poles and other system structures proficiently * Clear and thorough understanding of switching processes * Troubleshoot the source of power outages * Knowledge of technology related to job duties COMPETENCIES: * Safety Awareness and Participation * Communication * Adaptability * Decision Making * Leadership * Member Focus * Planning and Organizing * Problem Solving/Analysis JOB DUTIES: In addition to the duties and responsibilities of the Journeyman Lineman, the Working Foreman will: * Receive and communicate crew assignments, Plan work and coordinate teams. * Accurately complete all required paperwork associated with assigned tasks and keep applicable OTEC manuals current. * Ensure job task tailboards are completed and documented. * Assure that safe work practices and safety rules are followed and in compliance with OSHA and cooperative policies. * Inspect all safety and protective equipment, tools, materials etc., to confirm that they are in operational condition and properly maintained. * Ensure that all work is performed safely and efficiently and in compliance with applicable codes, as well as cooperative standards and specifications. * Report safety concerns, problems, and violations to management. * Other duties as assigned and as qualified to perform. * Participation in cooperative strategy and initiatives This is a full-time position. This position requires that the employee be available for work outside the normal daily work period. Travel may be required within the four-county service territory during the business day and infrequently overnight. Occasional out of the area travel is expected to attend various activities such as meetings. training and other events.
