Job Description:

As a Product Marketing Manager for our HR & Payroll portfolio in Africa Middel East (AME), you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of work for small and medium-sized enterprises. Your insights will guide the development of propositions that resonate with the unique needs of the AME market, ensuring our products not only meet but exceed customer expectations.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define and execute go-to-market strategies that drive adoption and market share growth. Your deep understanding of the HR & Payroll landscape will inform product positioning, messaging, and pricing, aligning with both customer needs and commercial opportunities.

You’ll work closely with global Product, regional GTM, and Commercial teams to adapt and land Sage’s solutions in the South African market. From shaping propositions that clearly differentiate us, to building narratives that resonate locally, you’ll be the voice of the customer and the market in South Africa. Your leadership will influence product priorities, strengthen adoption, and position Sage as the leading provider for small businesses and accountants in the region.

Location - Hybrid, 3 days per week out of our Johannesburg office.

Key Responsibilities:

What You’ll Be Doing;

• Strategic Direction: Partner with Product Management to define the strategic roadmap for the HR & Payroll category in AME considering market dynamics and regional requirements.

• Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth research to understand customer needs, emerging trends, and competitor strategies, translating insights into actionable marketing plans.

• Proposition Development: Develop compelling value propositions and messaging frameworks that differentiate our offerings in the AME market.

• Go-to-Market Execution: Lead the launch of new products and features, coordinating with Routes-to-Revenue and go-to-market teams to ensure successful adoption.

• Customer Engagement: Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product development and marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with customer expectations.

• Thought Leadership: Position Sage as a leader in the HR & Payroll space by creating and sharing insightful content that showcases our expertise and commitment to innovation.

Who You Are:

• Experience: Several years in product marketing, marketing, RTR or related business area, ideally within SaaS, ERP, or HR tech sectors.

• Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the AME HR & Payroll landscape, including regulatory nuances and customer pain points.

• Strategic Thinker: Ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies that drive business growth.

• Collaborative Leader: Proven track record of working cross-functionally to achieve shared goals.

• Customer-Centric: Passionate about delivering solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers.

• 15 days annual leave for fixed term colleagues and 20 annual leave days for permanent colleagues. The annual leave entitlement for permanent colleagues will increases with seniority. 30 days sick leave in a 3 year cycle, 6 days of Family responsibility leave and Religious leave combined, and 5 or 10 days of sports leave based on representation.

• Paid 5 days yearly to volunteer through our Sage Foundation.
