Aerotek Floor Technician in Jessup, Maryland

Job Title: Floor Technician Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Floor Technician to join our team at a state-of-the-art Anaerobic Digestion facility in Jessup, Maryland. The role involves working a 12-hour shift from Sunday to Wednesday, 7 AM to 7 PM. As a Floor Technician, you will play a crucial role in receiving and processing organic waste to produce renewable natural gas.

Responsibilities

  • Direct truck traffic on site, excluding the liquid digestate area.

  • Prepare tickets for operations.

  • Monitor vehicle login and scale operations, ensuring accurate weighing of trucks.

  • Guide the off-loading of organic solid wastes onto the tipping floor.

  • Operate the pumping system to off-load organic liquid wastes.

  • Conduct quality control inspections of input waste materials.

  • Collect and prepare material samples for lab submittals.

  • Load feed hoppers using the front-end loader safely.

  • Operate front-end loaders, forklifts, and skid-steers with safety in mind.

  • Separate contaminants that may damage separation equipment.

  • Operate pumps, valves, hoppers, augers, and conveyors in the receiving area safely.

  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment, including greasing and checking oil levels.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the tipping floor, equipment, and surrounding areas.

  • Perform additional duties such as mechanical repair, shipping & receiving, and documentation control.

Essential Skills

  • Possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

  • Experience with operating tractors, front-end loaders, skid-steers, or similar hydraulic equipment.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Competency with technology and data entry.

  • Professional conduct when interacting with clients delivering waste.

  • Familiarity with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety policies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SCADA or electronic control systems is a plus.

  • Training is provided in all areas for the right applicant.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Jessup, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
