Run or contribute to design councils, perform architecture/design reviews, and manage exceptions and technical risk with clear remediation plans
Guide implementation details (service boundaries, API contracts, data models, error handling, idempotency, failure modes, back-pressure)
Ensure designs include HA/DR , observability (logs/metrics/traces), and capacity/performance considerations, and are ready for chaos and DR testing
Embed resiliency NFRs ( RTO/RPO, SLO/SLI, MTTR ) into designs and influence testing strategies (failure injection, DR tests, automated runbooks)
Identify and drive automation opportunities (anomaly detection, incident triage, playbook automation, self-healing) and define AI/ML integration patterns within security, privacy, and model risk guardrails
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience

Hands-on knowledge of resiliency patterns (circuit breakers, bulkheads, retries with jitter, timeouts, idempotency, saga/compensation, blue-green/canary, multi-AZ/region, active-active/active-passive DR)
Strong observability and reliability practices (metrics/SLIs/SLOs, tracing, log correlation, error budgets, chaos testing, incident postmortems)
Working knowledge of CI/CD , infrastructure as code, containerization/orchestration, and secure SDLC practices
Experience using AI/ML tooling to improve productivity, including GenAI/agentic capabilities in architecture work
