Aerotek Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic in Jersey City, New Jersey
Description
Perform engine overhauls, hydraulic system repairs, and electrical troubleshooting Utilize computerized tools to diagnose, repair, and overhaul engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems. Perform routine servicing, including oil changes, lubrication, and cleaning parts to prevent breakdowns. Travel to job sites to repair broken-down machinery on-site. Ensure all machinery meets safety regulations, performing inspections and tests.

2+ years of experience with heavy equipment or agricultural machinery. Proficiency in diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and pneumatics. High school diploma or GED, often combined with specialized training or a degree in diesel technology. Capability to lift up to 50–100 lbs, climb on machinery, and work in varied weather conditions. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic software
