We are seeking an experienced Architectural Project Manager to lead and oversee multiple USPS renovation, repair, and alteration projects. This role requires ensuring that each project adheres to scope, schedule, and budget requirements. The position offers a blend of on-site and remote work, contributing to the successful completion of significant architectural undertakings.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee multiple USPS renovation, repair, and alteration projects, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
Work under the team lead through all project phases, including planning, design development, construction documentation, procurement, and closeout.
Conduct feasibility assessments, review site conditions, and support the development of technical specifications and project proposals.
Coordinate with internal architects/engineers, external consultants, contractors, and USPS facility teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of design and construction documents.
Review drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and contractor proposals for compliance with USPS standards, safety codes, and project requirements.
Attend pre-construction, progress, and closeout meetings; perform on-site inspections to confirm project quality and contract compliance.
Manage project deliverables, schedules, and tracking tools to maintain accurate document control across all active projects.
Respond to RFIs, review submittals, evaluate change orders, and manage all related project paperwork.
Prepare and maintain detailed progress reports, logs, and status updates for internal and client stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with USPS facility managers, internal leadership, contractors, and suppliers.
Coordinate field activities, access, and communication between all project participants to ensure seamless execution.
Act as the primary on-site point of contact, clearly communicating project updates, risks, and solutions.
Conduct local travel to job sites as needed for inspections, project meetings, and field assessments.
Essential Skills
6+ years of experience within architecture, structural, or mechanical engineering with a degree.
2+ years of project management experience, including client interaction and coordination.
Experience with governmental, institutional, or large-scale commercial building projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and construction documentation.
Strong ability to respond to RFIs, manage submittals, and evaluate change orders.
Proven ability to manage architectural projects, including cost and budgeting experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of analysis and project management within institutional and commercial settings.
Strong coordination abilities and experience with cost management.
Must be a US citizen as all work is directly performed for the USPS.
Work Environment
This role involves sitting at the USPS facility in Jersey City for four days a week, with one day of remote work. The position reports to a team lead based on-site. The work environment is secure, with the end client being USPS, and the role is not very demanding.

This is a Contract position based out of Jersey City, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.
