We are seeking a dedicated Architectural Project Manager to lead and oversee multiple USPS renovation, repair, and alteration projects. The ideal candidate will ensure each project adheres to scope, schedule, and budget requirements while coordinating with a dynamic team of professionals.
Responsibilities
Oversee projects through all phases, including planning, design development, construction documentation, procurement, and closeout.
Conduct feasibility assessments, review site conditions, and support the development of technical specifications and project proposals.
Coordinate with internal architects/engineers, external consultants, contractors, and USPS facility teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of design and construction documents.
Review drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and contractor proposals to verify compliance with USPS standards and safety codes.
Attend pre-construction, progress, and closeout meetings; perform on-site inspections to confirm project quality and contract compliance.
Manage project deliverables, schedules, and tracking tools to maintain accurate document control across all active projects.
Respond to RFIs, review submittals, evaluate change orders, and manage all related project paperwork.
Prepare and maintain detailed progress reports, logs, and status updates for internal and client stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with USPS facility managers, internal leadership, contractors, and suppliers.
Coordinate field activities, access, and communication between all project participants to ensure seamless execution.
Act as the primary on-site point of contact, clearly communicating project updates, risks, and solutions.
Conduct local travel to job sites as needed for inspections, project meetings, and field assessments.
Essential Skills
6+ years of experience in architecture, structural, or mechanical engineering with a relevant degree.
2+ years of project management experience, including client interaction and coordination.
Proven ability to manage architectural projects and knowledge of construction documents.
Experience with AutoCAD and governmental/institutional/large-scale commercial building projects.
Strong coordination skills and experience with costs and budgeting.
Ability to travel to local job sites if needed.
Experience with submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen as all work is directly performed for the USPS.
Work Environment
This role requires working four days a week at the USPS facility in Jersey City and one day remotely. You will report to a team lead who is on-site, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment. The position offers secure employment with a reputable client and is not overly demanding.

This is a Contract position based out of Jersey City, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.
