Job Title: Quality Assurance Associate

Job Description

The Quality Assurance Associate supports production by performing thorough quality inspections and maintaining accurate inventory records in a large, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. This role ensures that products meet required specifications, inventory levels support build requirements, and potential material issues are clearly communicated to the appropriate teams. The position combines hands-on inspection work with basic computer and system use to help maintain high quality standards throughout the factory.

Responsibilities

  • Compile daily inventory reports to reconcile the actual number of parts in the factory with system records.

  • Perform system audits to verify inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies between physical stock and recorded quantities.

  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure they are sufficient to meet build and production requirements.

  • Communicate potential inventory shortages and material concerns clearly and promptly to material planners.

  • Perform quality inspections based on established checklists, inspection points, and documented procedures.

  • Complete inspections using provided checklists and a variety of tools, including static tools, dry leak testing equipment, cab electrical test equipment, templates, and other inspection devices.

  • Conduct overall quality inspections at designated quality gates and during pre-delivery inspection stages.

  • Inspect products to verify they meet required specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.

  • Use measurement tools such as micrometers, gauges, fillet gauges, calipers, and tape measures to validate dimensions and quality characteristics.

  • Accurately document inspection results and inventory findings using computer systems and software.

  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to address identified issues and support continuous improvement of product quality.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all plant safety and quality procedures during inspections and inventory activities.

Essential Skills

  • Previous manufacturing experience that includes performing quality checks as part of daily responsibilities.

  • Ability to perform quality inspections using checklists, procedures, and a variety of inspection tools.

  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to enter, review, and reconcile data in computer systems.

  • Basic familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems for inventory and production data.

  • Proficiency with measurement tools such as micrometers, gauges, fillet gauges, calipers, and tape measures.

  • Ability to pass a tape measure test to demonstrate measurement accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Capability to interpret and follow written inspection procedures and work instructions.

  • Comfort working in an industrial manufacturing environment and performing physical tasks while on your feet throughout the shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with or around CNC operations, welding, or machine operation in a manufacturing setting.

  • Experience performing dry leak testing, electrical testing, or similar quality verification methods.

  • Experience compiling inventory reports and reconciling physical counts with system records.

  • Familiarity with quality assurance practices and standards in a production environment.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with material planners, production staff, and quality team members.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when recording measurements and inspection results.

  • Willingness to work overtime and some weekends as needed to support production demands.

Work Environment

This role is based in a very large industrial manufacturing plant with approximately 1,800 employees. The facility is climate controlled, offering a comfortable environment compared to many traditional industrial settings. The work is physically demanding and requires being on your feet throughout the shift while moving between workstations, inspection areas, and inventory locations. You will work around typical manufacturing equipment and processes, including CNC operations, welding, and machine operation, and you will regularly use inspection tools such as micrometers, gauges, fillet gauges, calipers, and tape measures, as well as computer systems and SAP for inventory and quality data. Shifts are available on second shift (approximately 3:00 p.m. to 11:10 p.m., Monday through Friday) and third shift (approximately 11:00 p.m. to 7:10 a.m., Monday through Friday), with overtime available and some weekend work as needed to support production demands. The environment emphasizes safety, quality, and collaboration across production, materials, and quality teams.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jefferson, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.98/hr.
