The Position:

The Quality Assurance Inspector performs Required Inspection Items (RII) inspections on aircraft and final inspections before release to service. Supports quality and safety management responsibilities for the Middle East, Central South Asia, and Africa regions. Ensures that the company's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Part 66 mechanical license remains valid according to GACAR requirements.

Based in Riyadh, KSA, this role reports to the Quality and Safety Manager for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and serves as the deputy to the manager when required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Aircraft Inspector activities in accordance with the GACAR Part 121 and Part 145 requirements, such as:

  • Scheduled and unscheduled inspections on aircraft as per GACAR Part 43 and Part 145

  • Ensure independence from maintenance and return to service functions

  • Verify technical records and maintenance documentation for accuracy and compliance

  • Record inspection results accurately in maintenance logs and certify completion before aircraft release.

  • Supports the independent Quality Assurance program to monitor compliance of the operations in the Middle East region to GACAR and other the applicable Part 145 maintenance requirements and QMS standards.

  • Conducts scheduled/assigned audits (line maintenance, provider) in a timely manner and reports the observations and findings on audit reports accurately. In case of audit findings, customer complaints, or other product issues, raise corrective/preventive action requests to the responsible parties and follow up to ensure timely and effective root cause analysis and closure.

  • Process authorization applications of maintenance, return to service and other authorized staff. Conducts applicants’ screening and interviews, as required, and maintains essential records of staff to support authorization decisions.

  • Maintains and improves Quality System Manuals/Procedures. Reviews the accuracy of the procedures, requests the process owners to suggest required changes, reviews the changes suggested and submits to QM for approval. Communicates QMS changes to relevant parties and issues Quality Assurance Notices.

  • Conducts QA Continuation Training (Regulations training, RSQCM, etc.) as assigned.

  • Maintains Quality Records/Documents in the company servers; maintains clutter-free and effectively organized structure of Quality Folder and updates the contents as soon as the documents are amended.

  • Investigates safety incidents and significant product or process issues and report the findings of the investigation to the relevant management team.

  • Reviews Capability Amendment requests based on procedural requirements and issues approval to ones satisfying the criteria. Maintains the records supporting the approval decision.

  • Supports the Quality and Safety Manager, KSA in their responsibility as the Training Program Manager. This includes Repair Station Training Program Manual review/ revision, training effectiveness review and related administration of the program.

  • Supports the Safety Management implementation in KSA and the region.

  • Reviewing and triaging Safety Reports submitted by staff and directing them to responsible management personnel for risk assessment

  • Managing of Safety Reports including follow up of risk assessments, mitigation planning, completion of actions and signoff by relevant management staff until report closure

  • Performing Safety data analysis and developing SPIs/SPTs and monitoring of Safety Performance of the organization (in KSA and the region)

  • Performing frequent safety inspections on the operations

  • Performing investigations on safety incidents and preparing an investigation report

  • Conducting SMS training to staff (both initial and recurrent)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree or higher is highly preferred.

  • Must hold a valid GACA Part 66 Mechanic License with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.

  • Minimum of 5 years of aviation experience required.

  • At least 2 years of experience exercising the privileges of a GACA Mechanic License, including performing or supervising maintenance, inspection, and return-to-service tasks.

  • Bachelor of Science (BS), BSEE, or related Engineering degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Industrial, Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or similar disciplines is desirable.

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable GACA Part 43 and Part 145 regulations.

  • Strong understanding of inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of aircraft and aircraft systems following maintenance activities.

  • Proficient in the use of various inspection equipment and visual inspection aids appropriate for aircraft system inspections.

  • Ability to understand, read, and write effectively in the English language.

  • Familiarity with airworthiness standards, maintenance manuals, and aviation safety protocols.

  • Demonstrates sound judgment within established procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions.

  • Applies professional concepts while adhering to company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of operational and technical issues.

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; experience with Power BI, Power Automate, and AI tools is considered an advantage.

  • Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally, up to 15% of the time.

  • Ability to work effectively in both office environments and airport operational areas, including airport ramps and line stations.

  • May require the ability to climb and work from ladders or platforms, as well as prolonged sitting, standing, bending, or twisting, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • May require the ability to work under extreme weather conditions.

  • May require the ability to adapt to challenging environmental conditions, including exposure to congestion and varying noise levels.
