A Brief Summary of This Position
The General Laborer is an Individual Contributor responsible for performing various tasks throughout the plant.
Work Shift:
Friday - Sunday
6AM - 6:15PM
Essential Functions:
Stock other workers with the supplies, materials, and tools necessary to perform daily tasks
Prepare surfaces, paint building interiors and power wash building exteriors
Operate/Use cleaning machinery and equipment in production areas
Perform miscellaneous seasonal grounds maintenance including planting and general grounds upkeep
Other duties as required and/or assigned
Important Details about the Role
This position reports to the Production Supervisor
Assist in general plant and admin areas clean up and housekeeping
Maintain plant and administrative bathrooms along with break rooms to an acceptable level of cleanliness
Light maintenance of facility such as painting, cleaning outside signage and cleanliness of parking lots
Most of the work performed will be individually.
Maintain cleaning supply inventory
Performs other duties as directed by leaders and management.
Actively participate in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
High awareness for safety at all times
Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required in the production facility
Maintain a safe and productive working environment
The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
The ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group of people
The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
The ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, although most frequent lift is up to 20 pounds
The ability to read, write, and effectively communicate
Communicate problems or needs to departmental/shift supervision
Pay attention to details and follow work instructions
High awareness for safety with the ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and work in a non-temperature controlled environment, as well as with exposure to outdoors
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
One (1) year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
The ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision
The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional result
