Hultquist Place is seeking a Part-Time Cook to join our Dietary team. If you take pride in preparing quality meals, enjoy working in a team-focused environment, and want to make a meaningful impact on residents each day, we’d love to meet you!
Schedule:
Shifts vary based on coverage needs, including every other weekend and two weekday shifts per bi-weekly pay period
What You’ll Do:
Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to standardized recipes and daily menus
Ensure food is prepared in the correct quantity and quality to meet meal service needs
Maintain appropriate food temperatures and document throughout the cooking and serving process
Practice proper portion control through accurate measuring and weighing of ingredients
Conduct taste testing to ensure quality and consistency of meals
Assist with meal service and ensure adequate food supply throughout service
Prepare food items in advance for upcoming meals (e.g., prepping meats, vegetables, baked goods)
Handle and store leftover food properly in accordance with guidelines
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment, including cleaning equipment and workstations
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production needs and adjustments
Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures
Support team operations and assist where needed to ensure smooth daily workflow
Participate in required trainings and quality improvement initiatives (QAPI)
Perform additional duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
High School Diploma or GED preferred
1–2 years of food preparation experience required, preferably in a healthcare or large-scale food service setting
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations
Ability to manage time effectively and work independently when needed
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
Reliable with a positive, team-oriented attitude
