SMP Health - Ave Maria Dietary Assistant I in Jamestown, North Dakota
Dietary Assistant I to work Full-time hours, schedule to include a combination of 5:30 am to 2:00 pm AND 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, includes every other weekend and rotating holidays.
Duties include setting up the dining room, passing plates to residents, cleaning of dining room, processing dishes, cleaning/sanitizing kitchen area, disposing of garbage and restocking items. Looking for an individual who is willing to engage and interact with our residents and work as part of the dietary team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
This position is responsible for performing all Dietary Assistant I duties abiding by Federal/State regulations and guidelines, following Resident Rights, which includes serving nourishment as prescribed by the physician, including diets such as ADA, L. Fat, L. Salt, Texture Modified, Pureed, and Ground; following menus as established by the Licensed Dietitian; and consulting with the Cook to ensure the resident receives the proper nutrition.
This position is responsible for setting tables; for preparing and passing required foods and liquids prior to meal service ensuring that temperatures are attained and documented. The incumbent performs duties of food storage and handling, labeling and dating as required, and checking for and disposing of outdated foods. This position is also responsible for cleaning dining rooms and processing dishes making sure proper water temperature are attained and documented for the dishwashers; for cleaning and sanitizing work areas, counters, refrigerators and cupboards; for disposing of garbage in the facility dumpsters making sure dumpster lids are closed; and for sanitizing garbage containers in the dietary department. The Dietary Assistant I ensures items needed for next meal service are restocked.
Performs safety and infection control procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment. This includes understanding and following the procedures relating to emergency and evacuation, wandering residents, fire, severe weather, universal precautions and safe operation of any equipment used. The Dietary Assistant I attends mandated meetings to keep informed.
The Dietary Assistant I participates in facility and department Quality programs for regulatory compliance, quality of care indicators and positive resident outcomes and satisfaction.
